EQ2 EGG
EQ2 EGG is a desktop application I wrote in Flash AIR to compile gear from several players at once in an easy to use report. As a T8 raider I find myself checking out players in the top guilds to see what they are wearing and plan my gear upgrades. This process was long and I wanted a better way to see it all at once. Plus I wanted to work on my Flash AIR skillz.

It basically fetches the web pages for desired players from eq2players.com and parses the html to make a consolidated report so you don't have to go view each player page and do it on your own. Once loaded, each item has a graph showing how many players out of your list have that item. As you mouseover each item, it will show the item's stat block as well as highlight those players in the list who are wearing it.
You can add players to the list, and remove them by clicking the red 'x'. You can also save and load player lists (useful for when you play multiple classes).
To figure out the player ID, find the player using the EQ2Players site and copy the number at the end of the url when viewing that player's page (that's the ID). Players who block their profile won't be used.
Hopefully it's pretty intuitive. Give it a sec to finish loading gear images and placing them in correct spot before mousing over them.
Installing
You need to first install Adobe's Integrated Runtime environment (AIR) from http://get.adobe.com/air/. It's a quick install and allows cross-platform desktop apps written in Flash. Pretty bad-ass.
Then you'll need to download the EQ2 EGG air installer from eq2egg.zip (small 350k file). Unzip the zip file then double-click the eq2egg.air file and the installer should launch. It will tell you it's an Unknown publisher cause I'm just developing with my developer certificate (verified cert cost like $300 and requires you to be an actual company). Don't worry, all it does is fetch EQ2Players pages just like a web browser (technically Flash AIR is a web browser). If you don't want to trust me, don't use it.
